We all remember the iconic view of the Dallas skyline in the open credits of the TV show Dallas….ok yeah actually we don’t either because #millenials. However, we can’t argue that the Downtown Dallas skyline is iconic and yet, it might just be the most underrated neighborhood in town. Not only are there plenty of downtown apartments to choose from, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and many other things to do all within walking distance from home for residents of Downtown. Keep reading for some of the Locate & Lease team’s favorites.
While it may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking about where to spend a night out for dinner or drinks with friends, amidst the apartments for rent downtown are plenty of options ranging from casual dining and carry out to some of the city’s most exclusive restaurants. Chop House Burger (the kid brother to Dallas Chop House) makes a mean burger and an even meaner side of truffle parmesan fries, trust us on this one. Oh- and here’s a little secret, for most residents living in the Main Street District they’ll deliver right to your front door for those nights you just can’t be bothered to put pants back on once you get home. Looking for something a little swankier because you deserve it?
Check out the award winning The French Room at The Adolphus Hotel or Mirador, the posh restaurant on the penthouse level of boutique Forty Five Ten with 11 foot windows giving you stunning views of the historic buildings and luxury apartments downtown. Both make for a great spot for a dinner date you’re trying to impress or a place to see and be seen grabbing a cocktail on a night out.
For many years one of the major cons to deciding on one of the downtown apartments for rent was that there were no grocery stores in the neighborhood, but that has recently changed. Earlier this year, Downtown got Royal Blue Grocery, it’s very own grocery store on Main St. And let’s not forget it’s 2018 and Amazon Fresh is a thing, so you can also have your groceries delivered right to you door at any of the Downtown Dallas lofts or apartments.
One other perk is that along with many Downtown apartments for rent, it is also home to many of Dallas’ best hotels. Whether your parents surprise you with a weekend trip or your studio apartment downtown just isn’t quite big enough for weekend company, there are plenty of options for you to host guests within walking distance of your home. The newly renovated Statler is a great option for those cools moms out there, along with The Joule and the historic Adolphus. There are also some more budget friendly options in the neighborhood like Aloft Dallas or Hotel Indigo.
